Great Deals from Wirefly

If you are looking for a new phone, or even phone accessories, then I would definitely recommend checking out Wirefly.com for some great deals. Wirefly sells surplus cell phone inventory on eBay so you don’t need to sign up for a new contract to get a great price on a new phone. If you do need a plan however, they offer free phones with a two-year contract agreement with several major cell phone carriers. Wit h a family plan through Cingular, for example, Wirefly will give you up to 5 free Motorola Razrs! What a GREAT deal! I just bought a Razr with a new plan and I love it…I sure wish I got mine for free though! If your in the market for a new phone check out the great reviews of Wirefly on eBay or Wirefly.com!

My house is gone!

Well...ok so it wasnt MINE, but it was my favorite of the ones I looked at on Sunday. We looked at the houses this evening, but the one I was hoping for has already been leased out. Bummer! The other girls weren't too impressed with the other houses we looked at today, so its back to the first one we looked at last week and looking in the newspaper for some other options. I'm still leaning towards an apartment...they just seem so much cleaner and newer and more convenient!!!! Oh well, I'm sure whatever we end up with will be fine.

Now THATS Marketing!

Apparently the guy who started half.com, Mark Hughes, is quite the motivational speaker. After launching his business, he convinced Halfway, Oregon to be renamed Half.com! Wow, if I was starting a business he's definately the guy I would want to talk to! He's also written a book, "Buzz Marketing", that gives you some valuable steps to take for marketing. Check it out and maybe you'll be next on eBay's list of businesses to buy!

Housing for next year...

Its about that time to make a desicion on where I'm going to live next year...and man is it difficult! A friend and I had been looking at apartments and were leaning toward that direction as opposed to a house, but we needed a couple other girls to join us to fill the rooms. Well, we kind of joined up with two other girls who are looking for a place too, but they're leaning more towards a house. So, we looked at a house last week and it was pretty nice...but I wasnt too impressed and still liked the apartment better. Then, I looked at some more houses on Sunday, and found a couple that were really nice and a little less money. So, I thought, well if we have to get a house and not an apartment then I guess I would be happy with one of the ones I looked at one Sunday. Today the four of us are going together to look at them...so well see what we come up with! I just want something that is going to be clean and homey and not far from campus. Hopefully we can all come to a decision together that everyone will be pleased with!

Cellular Reverse Lookup!

Here is a very cool new site to check out! Of course we have all used a phonebook before right? But what we don't usually have the opportunity to do is reverse that process. There are times when we would like to look up who a particular cell phone number belongs to! ReverseCellPhoneLookUpSecrets.com is an excellent resource for doing just this. How cool is that? I personally love the idea. Try out a Cellular Reverse Lookup today!

This is not a paid post

If you haven't noticed, I am now putting something to the effect of "this is a paid post" in quotes at the bottom of all my PPP posts! This is due to a somewhat new deal that PPP has enforced. They want all this paid posting stuff to be as uncontroversial as possible. Personally I think it looks much more professional. What do you think?

Heat Wave!!!

Wow! Last week we got dumped with tons of snow, and today it hit almost 40 degrees! Isn't it funny how this time of year that seems so warm? Today a friend and I went outside to take some pictures of the ice on the trees before it all melted. Just outside our dorm there are a few trees that have one side of their branches covered in ice. It was so pretty! I dont like the freezing cold, but I do like how beautiful it can be! At least God gave us something beautiful to enjoy during these cold months!

If you are in a tight financial spot you know how stressful it can be when your car breaks down or a medical expense comes up or some other emergency happens...at just the wrong time. Payday Cash Advance Loans are short term loans that allow you access to cash before your next paycheck. If you need a Payday Advance and can't or don't want to get a bank or long term loan, this is a great option. Buying and Selling Textbooks

Now that the semester has begun, I've been reminded about just how expensive books can be! I always check online first at places like half.com and amazon.com to see if I can save money at all. This semester I was able to save some by buying online instead of the bookstore, which is always nice! I also put my books on half.com to see if I could get anything back...and in just a few days I already had three of them sold! I was very pleasantly surprised. If you have any old textbooks lying around I would definately try to sell them and see what you can get! Any amount is more than you'll get from them sitting on a dusty shelf right?!

Decaf coffee...or is it?

I just read an article on Fox News' website that stated decaf coffee isnt actually totally caffeine free. In the study that was done, the researchers found out that apparently ten cups of decaf coffee could easily reach caffeine levels equal to one cup of regular. Now, yes 10 cups is certainly a lot, but if you are someone who needs to eliminate caffeine switching to decaf isn't the answer! So if this is you, look for caffeine-free drinks, not decaffinated ones to eliminate caffeine completely.

Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr (January 15, 1929-April 4, 1968) was a was a famous leader of the American civil rights movement, a political activist, and a Baptist minister. He was assassinated on April 4, 1968 and just the day before he had given his speech, "I've Been to the Mountaintop". Knowing now that this speech was given the day before his death, makes his conclusion even more prefound. Here is the conclusion of his speech:
"Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn't matter with me now. Because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. And I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord."

Mail Drop Guide

Do you ever feel apprehensive about writing your return address on an item you ship out? When I buy something online, like from an individual through eBay, I always feel a little leery to supply my home address. Nothing has ever happened, but it just always makes me think for a second about it. If you feel the same way then having a mail drop is something to consider! Mail drops (also known as mail box rentals, accommodation addresses, remailing services, and mail forwarding services) provide you a place to send your mail, without having to disclose your personal information on the address. This may also be helpful for you if you are starting a home business. A mail drop will allow you to have a more professional address other than your residential one. Check out www.maildropguide.com for the biggest internet directory of mail boxes, maildrops and remailing services.

NoExcusesGym

As I have written about before, health and fitness is something I am interested in and really have a passion for. I came across a blog called NoExcusesGym, which has some great articles related to weight training, fitness, and health. Many of the recent posts on this blog talk about how to start weight training safely and other helpful tips to help you get started on those popular New Year’s resolutions many of us make. One article I read and really enjoyed was titled, Small change in your weight can have a big impact on your health, and obviously, it talked about just that. This article stated that a “5% - 10% loss of initial body weight is associated with meaningful improvements in cholesterol levels, hypertension and glucose metabolism.” This is so true but sadly it is something that is not well known. 5-10% really is not that much. If a woman weighs 200lbs, she is most likely considered obese. A 7% loss of body weight would bring her to about 186lbs. She would still be considered “overweight” but if she lost that weight because of healthy lifestyle changes, according to these studies, she would have significant health benefits. It frustrates me so much when I hear people talking about the fact that being obese is so deadly, when really, one can still be considered overweight and have healthy cholesterol and glucose levels and even a decreased risk of hypertension and diabetes if they practice the three important lifestyle modifications: dietary intervention, behavioral therapy, and physical activity.

Urbana '06!

I had the opportunity last week to attend the Urbana Convention in St. Louis. I joined 22,000 other students from over 140 different countries! It was such an awesome week! The week was packed with speakers from all over the world, seminars, worship, and tons of information. I learned so much and am still trying to process everything that I heard. Among other things, Urbana really rejuvinated my faith, opened my eyes to problems and oppression faced by others throughout the world, and showed me just how blessed I really am and how thankful I should be.
