Capella University

I'm sure many people have heard of Capella University before, right?? They are not just one of many online colleges, they are one of the best. They are a fully accredited online university, offering a variety of degree programs for those studying for an undergraduate or graduate degree. They are highly respected and continue to grow each year. I always enjoy hearing of their successful former students and the acknowledgments they are receiving. For instance, a press release announced that Jeannie McGuire who got her human services master's degree from Capella was recently awarded the 2008 Sunny Andrews Award for outstanding commitment to social work from the ASWB. Headaches

Headaches are the worst. I get them often and they tend to run in my family. I am just miserable and nothing I take really makes it feel much better. They tend to start in my neck so I think it is some sort of tension headache. Ibuprofen helps some, but often it just takes rest. Unfortunately for me I am very busy over the next couple of days here in Omaha for work...so I will have to work through it and hopefully rest up this weekend.

Very Tired From Travel

Wow am I tired today!! I was busy traveling yesterday so I could be here in Omaha with plenty of time to rest last night. Unfortunately I got here late and am very tired this morning. Not only did I not have much time to sleep...I also did not sleep well because of the uncomfortable bed. I'm not one who is fond of motels and never sleep that well. At least it's only for a couple of days I guess.

Gone on Business

I'm in Omaha for business for a couple of days and really looking forward to it. It's always nice to have a little trip during the work week...as it makes the time go by more quickly. I have been looking forward to going for a while now. I'm glad that it's only a couple of days and that when I get back to my place it will be the weekend. I think weekends are the best time of the whole week...wouldn't you agree?!? :)

Computers

I am amazed how easy it is for people to get a laptop these days. I remember when computers were extremely expensive. Now for a few hundred dollars one can not only have a computer, but a very nice laptop like a Sony Vaio for example. There are some more expensive options out there, like the MAC I have...however for simple navigation and projects they really aren't necessary. I like that computers are becoming more affordable for people, as they are a necessity for many.

I've been hearing a lot about diet pills on the market and the effects of many of them. One that I've only heard and read positive things about is Fenphedra. Have you ever heard of that? I don't know a great deal about it....but it's supposed to be the very best. I may have to look into it further, as this is something I might want to try at some point. Who knows?!

Food

Do you ever see a show or an ad on television that makes you hungry? I sure have. In fact, I just was. I was watching a show with apples on it...yum! Now that is all I want to eat but I don't have any here at my house. Grr....that's frustrating. Isn't it funny how something so simple can make you so hungry though?!? Maybe I could fix that by thinking about what I might have for supper. That would probably help.

Surfing the Web for Blogs!

I often find myself browsing the web when I have time. Have you ever realized how many great blogs there out there. I think it's fun to find new ones that I've never come across before. There are some that I don't enjoy so much, but then there are others that are worth linking to and checking out again. What is your favorite kind of blog?? Mine tend to be more personal blogs. The ones that talk about news and topics that are relevant to my life. I happened to come across Christy's coffee Break today actually...and it's the perfect example of a blog I will visit often. I enjoyed the simple layout, as well as the interesting information and well written content.

Heated Seats

Everyday I learn something new about my car!! I love my new BMW!! I know it sounds funny, but one of the things I am appreciating most at this point are the heated seats!! Where I live the weather is bitter right now...temps well below 0 degrees most of the time!! Having heated seats that warm up quickly is wonderful!! I have never had this in any of my other vehicles and can't believe I never got them. It's great to get into a vehicle and warm up so fast. I'm sure in the summer it won't be as big of a deal, but this time of year it's great!

Warmer Weather

Thankfully the weather this week has been a bit warmer than it was last week. Last week many kids didn't even go to school because of the bitter temps. I'm thankful that it's finally warmed up...for the kids and for anyone else like myself who has to be out in it everyday. This weekend it may get colder again, but at least I don't really have plans to be out and about. Maybe I'll just stay in where it is nice and warm.

Convenience of Technology

I love the convenience the Internet gives us. I was online doing some banking and then decided to look into mortgage rates as well as CD Rates. It was so easy!! When I was in middle school we didn't even have a computer at my house let alone the Internet....and even though that was in my lifetime I can't recall what we did with out it. It's weird to think of how life was without this technology because we've become so used to it. I'm sure we made due some how, but it's still weird to think about.

Weekend

I had the best long weekend. I relaxed much of the day on Saturday...Sunday and Monday I visited my sister and her family...and Tuesday I relaxed and was pretty lazy most of the day. It was GREAT!! Now I'm back to work, yet all I can think about is the weekend coming again. I love work...but to have time to just relax and enjoy time spent with family and my kitty is the best. I'm glad the weekend is only a few days away.

Day off

Well...I'm sitting here with another day off and I am very happy about that. It's very nice to have a long weekend like this. I'm watching the beginnings of the inauguration...pretty exciting. No matter if you voted for Obama or not...it's pretty exciting to witness this each time the president is sworn in. It looks like there are millions of people there. We actually know a couple of people who are there which is cool too.

Children's Shows

I got a taste for some of the funny cartoons and children's shows that kids watch these days as I stayed with my sister this weekend. I thought it was so cute to see my little niece dancing and enjoying the music and the things these shows are teaching kids. Fun Trip

I had a great time visiting my sister and her family. I always enjoy seeing my little niece. She's walking all around now which has been fun too. It was tough to keep up with her. We went to the mall and walmart and she was all over the place. Plans Change

Who wouldn't want to learn more about New York City and all there is to do there?! I know I would. That's probably partially because I will be going there this summer and I want to know what the best choices in events, music, nightlife, New York Restaurants and more are. Blogging

Blogging has become quite a popular way to make some extra money. Almost everyone I talk with at least knows about it, if not actually does it. I got into blogging for money a few years ago...and although I enjoyed it, I found that I didn't have a lot of time for it. I still do it every once in a while, but far less than I used to. That's probably good though, as I hear it's not necessarily the happening job it once was. I think the economy may have something to do with that. eBay

I was talking with my dad and sister today...it sounds like both of them have recently made some orders on ebay and still have yet to receive their items. I have to say that this is one reason I rarely do business through ebay. I know that there are some very trustworthy sellers out there, but even one bad one can really spoil it. They both have been waiting for their products for almost two weeks now...that's ridiculous if you ask me. They are probably going to be asking for their money back and do business elsewhere I'm guessing.

I couldn't be happier that it is Friday, but I sure wish the temps would warm up a bit. I enjoy my weekends, but having to be housebound because of the negative temps is simply no fun. Vacation

I am SO looking forward to having monday off. In fact, I'm so excited about it, that I've actually decided to take Tuesday off as well. It's great having a job where I have plenty of vacation days. Great Car

I sure love my new car!! I couldn't be happier with the one I got. It has handled so nicely this winter and I haven't had to worry that I won't get to work after we get a lot of snow or anything. Daily I am learning new things about my little BMW which is fun too. There are just so many new features that I"ve never had with any other car before. For instance....today I learned that my headlights turn when my steering wheel turns. Isn't that crazy?! I thought that was pretty neat.

Candy Lover

Anyone who knows me, knows that chocolate is my weakness. No matter what time of day it is, or weather or not I'm trying to lose weight....it's always something I'm hungry for and willing to buy. So what is my favorite chocolate? Well, there are lots, but my all time favorite would probably have to be butterfingers. Yum! My mouth waters just thinking about it. They are SO good! The peanut butter in the middle, chocolate and crispiness of the chocolate bar is absolutely mouth watering. Wouldn't you agree??

I was looking online to see if I could find a good deal on my favorite chocolates and candies and did happen to come across a great site that actually has outstanding prices on things like Laffy Taffy and gum in bulk even. Cold Weather

I was sure shocked to walk outside this morning and find how cold it was...wow!! I'm sure happy I have a garage to keep my car in and remote start. It was bitter...and I would not have liked to get in a freezing cold car. I'm also appreciative of the fact that my car now handles perfectly in snow and ice. Busy Day

Wow...what a busy day. I decided to go back and meet my parents for lunch and a movie. They wanted to see my new car and I wanted to be sure to show it to them. We had fun. It's kind of a long ways to travel in a day...but it was a good time. We saw the movie Marley and Me and it was super good. Then we did a little shopping, ate and I went home. I decided to meet my friend Renee for supper and then came home for a nice relaxing night with my kitty.

Finding Health Insurance

My current healthcare plan is pretty good. The job I had before this one did not offer near the benefits as the one I have now. I don't have much to compare to...but as far as I'm concerned, the fact that they cover a large percent of many of my visits to the doctor is outstanding. I also have a pretty good prescription plan. I guess the only thing I would like is something that maybe was a little more affordable. For fun today, I was looking around and came across ekaiserinsurance.com. Kaiser Permanente are a company offering many different healthcare plans that would be a great fit for people like me and like you. Slow start...

I'm so thankful that today is Thursday. My week started off a bit slow...probably since I had nearly two weeks off over the holidays. I guess you could say it was a little bit hard for me to get back into the swing of things. Now it's getting better though and each day goes by faster than the last. I enjoy my job, but also love my time off and weekends. I look forward to this weekend and am excited that it's only a couple of days away.

Family

Today I was thinking about how blessed I am. I have a wonderful family and great friends. I guess I got to thinking about this as I was reminiscing about Christmas and what a wonderful time I had. It was the best!! I also got to thinking about how different my siblings and I are from each other...yet how well we get along. We all have different interests...that showed just in the gifts we got....I received lots of John Deere items for instance, while my brother received lots of sports gifts. Though different, I suppose we're alike in many ways. We have fun together and that's what matters.

So Much Fun!

What a nice Christmas I had. Not only did I get to spend time with my family, but I have also received some very nice gifts. I had mentioned how fun it might be to have one of those in-home helicopters. I have been working on creating one myself. Well, I did receive one and it is quite tiny, but amazing! It seems to have all of the make up of a larger helicopter. With the lights and blades spinning, there is no fear of damage to be done. It is very light weight and fairly easy to control. Well....today is going by a little bit faster than the rest of my week at least. I'm so anxious for this weekend...mainly because I get to go see my parents and show off my new car I just bought. I had never imagined I would buy myself a BMW, but now that I have one I can't imagine having anything else. It's great!! I love how it handles in this weather especially...so nice. I think my parents will like it too. They're excited to see it.
