Planning a Vacation

I was just writing about how much I'd like to go on a vacation, and then I find a great site where planning a vacation is easy. What a coincidence?!! If you've ever planned a vacation before, you know that the hardest part about it is not only deciding what you're going to do on the vacation and when, but also where you're going to stay and how you're going to get around from place to place. I remember when I was younger, my mom would work really hard on planning our family vacations. She would stay up until the early hours in the morning looking through her motel books and calling to see if there were openings. Too bad Hotel Reservations wasn't a site around back then, because it would have made planning our family vacations much easier for her. It's a one stop resource for your vacation planning needs when it comes to finding hotels, motels, resorts, car rentals and so much more!! The thing I liked most about this site was how easy it was to use. It's very user-friendly and easy to navigate, making it very easy to find exactly what it is you're looking for. This site makes it possible for someone to actually enjoy planning their vacation and not feel like they need a vacation just from all the planning. It's so simple...I just can't stress that enough. The great thing about Hotel Reservations is that they have very competitive rates which makes finding a place to stay even better. They even have discounts on world wide destinations...so don't think this site doesn't apply to you if you're traveling abroad...because it does!! Please check out this site today and see what you think. You won't be disappointed...I know I wasn't. This is a paid post.

Need a vacation

Gosh, I've really had the itch to want to somewhere nice and warm...somewhere by a beach. It would have been great if I could have gone out to visit my girlfriend in California...but starting this new job recently, I just couldn't take the time off already. Oh well, someday I'll get to go somewhere beautiful like that.

Terry's Fabrics

Since I recently moved, I know a little bit about decorating and what it takes to make an empty apartment feel like a home. One thing that my mom got for me were curtains. Boy, do they add a lot to a room. Without them my place just felt bare. They add to the decor of your home as well as it's warmth. Terry's Fabrics is a great place to find lots of curtains and curtain products like, curtain tracks for example. If you're moving or just wanted to redo some rooms in your home, don't forget to check out Terry's Fabrics today. This is a paid post.

Nice Weather

Well, the weather is just beautiful out today! I can't believe how nice it is. I walked outside this morning to find it not too warm, not too cold and not raining! That's pretty good for where I live. I hope it stays like this all day so I can enjoy the weather when I get off work.

More on Lindsey Lohan

I'm sure many of you have heard the latest news surrounding Lindsey Lohan. She was picked for DUI, driving with a suspended license, and then the police found cocaine in her pocket. She is now saying that she had nothing to do with that cocaine and that it wasn't hers. Whether it was hers or not, I'm not sure, but you'd think that she would try to straighten up after all the rehab that she undergone. This girl is not making good choices in the friends she is hanging out with, and she's not making good choices for herself. I sure hope that something will open this girls eyes before she gets behind the wheel of car drunk again, putting her life and other's lives in danger.

Freeze It

Ever since I began working full time and sitting at a desk all day, my neck muscles and shoulder muscles really begin to ache by the end of the day!! I never had this before I began working so much, and thought it was just something that was not preventable. That is, until I tried the new Freeze It product that's out there. Freeze It is a muscle, joint and arthritis pain relief gel that really works! I'm telling you because I tried it on the areas that are the most bothersome to me and absolutely loved how quickly it helped to relieve the pain I was feeling. What I tried was just a sample, but going to their site I found that I can by tubes or roll ons for very cheap...$9.99! That's very inexpensive and a price that I can afford. The thing I like best about this product over other products on the market like it, is that the smell is not completely overwhelming. It's a gentle scent that vanishes. It's also not greasy like some other products that I've used in the past. This is very important, because if grease gets on my clothes, it's impossible to get out. If you're having muscle aches and join pains, I highly recommend this product. Check out their site and see what you think.

Mac Computer

I love my apple computer. I have had it for like 6 or 7 months now, but it is just so cool!! It can do pretty much anything and everything. It even takes pictures which I think is awesome. Anyone who needs to get a new laptop, I recommend getting a mac. They are really the nicest computers out there.

IT Community

Whether you know me or not, just by reading through my blogs, I'm sure you can tell that I love technology! I am always thrilled when I find different technology websites, especially those that have discussions and communities. One site that I recently came across, which I found to be pretty interesting is Discussweb. This site offers a discussions on topics such as web development, software Programming, quality assurance, web hosting and much more. They are really a terrific IT community, and great place for discussions. I like it so much because it's a place where people can go to get technical support from technology experts. It's still a growing site and community, and they have many ideas to help make it even better over time. It's going to be even more helpful for those of us interested in technology, no matter where we live around the world! Their site is also very user-friendly and easy to navigate, something I always look for in a good website. You'll find that it's easy to find whatever it is you're looking for very quickly and easily. I strongly urge you to check them out today and see what you think. You won't be disappointed! Yum!

I had the best lunch today. Last night I decided to make goulash, which is one of my all time favorite meals. It made quite a bit, so I had a huge bowl full of leftovers in my fridge today. I decided that would be a great thing to have at lunch...not the whole huge bowl full of course...but I did eat quite a bit. It was SOO good!:) Reminds me of my mom and dad's home cooking.

Online Coupons

Shopping online has become quite popular these days. Have you ever done it? I know I have, and I must say it's one of the easiest and most convenient ways to compare and shop. I don't even have to leave the comfort of my own home to do it. One nice thing about shopping online is being able to use online coupons to help save you money. I recently came across a great online coupon resource website that helps people save lots and lots of money by using online shopping coupons. The thing I was most impressed about with this site was the fact that it's updated daily with the best deals and coupons. I like this because it shows that they're out to help the consumer and want to help them save as much money as possible. In looking a this site there are so many great stores that I could use coupon codes at that I already shop at. My favorite would have to be Dell Coupons, but there are truly so many places that I would shop with coupon codes. Check them out and see what you think...and start saving money today. Well there is, and I'm very excited about this. They have t-shirts, mousepads, mugs, and so much more!! I recently came across a great website...in fact, it's UK's biggest free discount code website out there!! It's growing very rapidly and even featured in the national press. Basically here's how it works. If you're looking to buy something on an online store, you should check My Voucher Codes first! They can help you see if there's a discount code available for whatever it is you're looking to purchase. Basically they're here to help save you money! Isn't that cool?!? Today has been quite the beautiful day. It has been rainy here and not very nice, but today it's really pleasant outside. It's not too hot, but not too cold. The other nice things is that it's finally dry out with no storms or hail on the radar. That's a huge plus!!:)

Seeing how my sister and sister-in-law are both pregnant and due in October, baby talk seems to be quite popular these days. I'm definitely going to have to tell them about Ladybugs and Lilypads. They have a huge variety of clothing, bedding, toys, and much more!! Much of it is unique and it's all very nice from what I can tell. I think this is the place to go to find a great gift for the baby's when they finally are here. If you're looking for a baby gift, or something for your own baby, check out this site. They're glad that all this is happening now, so that gives them plenty of time to get settled before the baby. I'm sure it will feel good to have their own place and actually invest their money into something.

Sore throat

This weather has sure made it difficult to get rid of the sore throat I've had lately. I feel like the dryness in my apartment is just making it worse. It's even hard to sleep some nights because of it. Sore throats are no fun, because there's really nothing to do to make it better. Cough drops work for a while...but they just mask the problem and don't make it better long term.

Have you ever heard of the NAHETS before? If not, then you should know that they are the National Association of Heavy Equipment Training Schools. Basically they want to promote great schools for those who are interesting in crane operator training and heavy equipment training. They actually make schools meet pretty high standards, which I think is great! What does it take to make the grade when it comes to being a member school? There must be a placement director, financial aid director, admissions director, heavy equipment training director, and more. There's really a lot that goes into these schools...making them perfect for prospective students. I for one like the Cash Back Gas Credit Card because gas is just outrageous these days. If I can find something to help me reduce the cost of gas then I'm gonna do it. I am SOOO tired of all these mosquitoes outside this summer. I mean, I can handle a few, but this is just ridiculous. I walked out to the mailbox today, and just from there to my place I got two mosquito bites on my foot. They've eve been spraying for them, but it does not seem to be helping!!

Capella University

I don't know if anyone has seen the podcasts on Capella University's website, but they are really pretty neat. I wish that my college would have had something like this on their site when I was looking for a college. If you're looking for an online University, you should really check out Capella University. Go on and check out their podcasts, as they give a wealth of information about the experiences of staff, faculty and students. The latest is an interview with Carla Chladek, a student who goes there. I think it's neat because you get that first hand information that you don't get at many other schools. Check it out and see what you think...you have nothing to lose.

Home Depot

My sister and her husband have been spending a lot of time at Home Depot looking around for things they will need in their new home. One of the first things they will be buying is a new front door. They're torn on which brand or type to buy though. They don't want to spend a ton of money, but want something that will last them for quite some time and keep out the cold int he winter time. Hopefully they find something they like.

Itchy Eyes

I don't know why, but I really have quite the itchy eye today. It's red and watering. I woke up with it like that, and throughout the day it seems to only feel worse. I'm not sure weather or not it's just irritated or if I should maybe go see the doctor about getting some eyedrops? I will have to keep an eye on it to see if it gets any better.

Spraying for Mosquitoes

I was sitting in my car last night and noticed the helicopters flying over head. I realized that they were spraying for mosquitoes again which is great!! They have been so bad this summer, that being outside is just miserable. I'm glad that they're spraying from the air and the ground lately. Hopefully it will the situation a little bit more.

Tallest Man

I'm sure many of you have heard, but the tallest man in the world got married the other day. He married a woman who is 5'6 which is much shorter than he is. It's really interesting to see their wedding pictures because he's just so tall. I thought my sister who is 5'3 and her husband who is 6'3 had a big height difference, but nothing compared to this couple!

The FBI Director's Community Leadership Award is a very honorable award given to only given to one individual or organization from each of the 56 fields of the FBI. It's given to those who are involved in community crime prevention...just as Tammy Alexander, a Master's Degree student from Capella University does. Knowing what an honor this award is...she was very happy to receive it in 2006. She knew that there were many deserving people of this award and couldn't be happier that she was one to receive it that year. It shows that hardwork and dedication really do pay off. I think it's great and congratulate Tammy on a job well done.

Capella University

Appreciative Coaching is a the title of a new book out there that Sara Orem, faculty member of Capella University helped co-author. It's basic premise is the idea that focusing on achievements and best practices help organizations to flourish. When I say focus on these things, I mean on the people involved in the companies. Appreciative Coaching is best used by bosses, coaches, etc who work with people on a one on one basis. IF you go through the four stages of Discovery, Dream, Design and Destiny, you will see change in your company. There's really a lot of information that can be shared about appreciative coaching, and you can learn more on the Capella website. It's really quite an interesting point of view.

Friday

I can't believe it's Friday! The weeks just fly by! It seems like ever since I started working, the months and weeks just go by so quickly it's hard to believe that summer is almost over already. The main thing I'm counting down to is the return of Renee from California. It will be so nice to see her. I usually am spending Friday's with her, but lately they've just been days for me to relax and watch tv.

It's Friday and that means I really need to get some cleaning done around my apartment today. Usually I try and take a day at the end of the week to clean and vaccuum so it's clean for the rest of the week. I basically have to do all of that, plus laundry and dishes. That's ok though...it should be a pretty laid back night.

Capella University has quite the website. They have so much information for current and potential students and staff. I especially enjoy the podcasts that they offer regularly for people to listen to. They're not very long, but they do have a lot of information that is useful for those who are considering this as their online university. Students, staff and faculty discuss their experiences at Capella University for all to hear. The most recent, Carla Chladek, was one of the most interesting that I've listened to yet. The Wit Rally is in town where my hometown is. Winnebago Industries is located there, and lots of people from all over the country drive in their Winnebagos and basically camp out all over town for a few weeks. It's nice that they can all come back each year...but it makes our small little town pretty packed. It's hard to get around without waiting in traffic. It also makes the businesses and restaurants in town quite busy.

Capella University actually offers podcasts for people who are on their site and looking to learn more about their school. Capella University is an online university that was founded in 1993. They are a fully accredited university with lots to offer both graduates and undergraduates. They have a pretty impressive team of faculty members as well. Including Sara Orem who helped Co-author a book on Appreciative Coaching. Appreciative Coaching: A Positive Process for Change is about helping people who are involved with companies and organizations learn how to approach their employees in a positive way to effect change in the work place. I found their theory to be quite interesting and I think you will as well. You can learn more about Sara and the university on their site.

Another sad story

It seems that when you watch the news, it's just one sad story after another. Recently a body of a young girl, sara nicole hulbert, was found at a truck stop where she was shot to death. Bruce Mendenhall was questioned about the killing, and said that he is a serial killer, and has killed in four other states already. Isn't that just sick?! It's just so sad to watch this type of news on television...it seems that there is more and more of it with each day that passes.

AlwaysHD

Have you ever heard of AlwaysHD before?? I hadn't until just recently when I ran across their site as I was browsing the web. AlwaysHD is a site that was created for professional Cinematographers and producers who are looking to market their high definition video stock footage, find camera operators, artists, etc. It represents these professionals from across the world. High definition footage is marketed to different production companies, advertising agencies, independent filmmakers, and so much more. Basically, they market their footage and then receive compensation for it when it sells. The neat thing about this site is that once the buyer buys the clip, they use it without limitations...or "royalty free". Check their site out to learn more.

Not my kind of TV show

Have you ever seen the show "My Super Sweet Sixteen"?? It's not a show that I enjoy too much, but I have seen it a couple of times. The reason why it's not my favorite show to watch is because there's these young kids, turning 16, who are spoiled rotten and treat their parents so badly most of the time. They get all worked up over the details of their extremely large super sweet sixteen. Maybe it's a favorite of some people, but it's definitely not my kind of show.

Debt

Ever since I began college, it seems that credit card companies will not leave me alone. I get junk in the mail constantly from all kinds of companies trying to get me to use their credit card. My mom said that when she was my age...it was next to impossible for people to get credit cards. It's no wonder that people fall behind on their credit cards and get in serious debt and trouble!! It's so easy to do if you're not careful! The smartest thing to do when it comes to a credit card is only use what you know you can come up with during that month. In other words...don't spend the money if you can't pay it off at the end of the month. This a rule of thumb that I've always used and it's worked so far. Otherwise using credit cards can get way out of control. I personally think it's smart to just have a credit card in case of an emergency...otherwise it's too tempting to use it when it's not necessary.

They've really set a tradition of excellence, especially since they received many awards, namely two South Florida Travel Publication Awards in the same year. I found that to be pretty amazing myself!!

Headaches are miserable

I hate these days when I have a slight headache that just won't seem to go away. It makes it really difficult to get the things done that I need to. Even the smallest headache can really be a pain. I tend to get them in the neck first, which makes me really stiff. It also seems to affect my eye and sinuses as well. I find that it's best to take it easy when i get headaches like this, so they don't get worse.

Packing

My sister and her husband have been talking about their big move quite a bit lately!! They are very excited, and I couldn't be happier for them. It's tough to get things ready to move though, because Scott is working all the time, and Jenna is pregnant (limiting her to the packing of only light objects). They only have a couple of short weeks left before they move, so weekends are going to be a busy time for them...as this is when Scott is home to help with the heavier items.

Helping my Bro

I've recently been helping my brother get more involved with blogging, specifically blogging to make money. I helped him set up a blog that would bring him more traffic, and ultimately raise his PR hopefully in the near future. It's really a pretty neat layout that we came up with, and I'm excited that I could help him out.

Wow!!

Can you believe we're already into the second week of July already?? I am just amazed at how quickly time flies by. I mean, when I was in college time kind of dragged on. But now that I am out working full time, I find that there never seems to be enough time in a day to get everything done. Before we know it, it will be August already!!

777

Lots of people are making a big deal out of today's date! 777 is supposed to be the luckiest day of the century...I guess we'll have to see about that. In fact, so many people are believing this to be true that they are spending their time in casinos hoping to when lots of cash. Some others are planning to get married today, hoping for good luck for their marriages. I think it's kind of silly...but whatever I guess.

Portable Scanner

Are you a busy professional who could make use of a portable scanner? If so, then you should know about the great one I recently came across as I was browsing the web. The ScanShell 2000N is a portable scanner that's lightweight and so convenient, as it can be carried along with a laptop and powered by a USB 2.0 port...a very easy and fast way to hook up to your computer. As a busy professional, I'm sure you can appreciate a timesaving and easy device to use such as the ScanShell 2000N. This device is extremely lightweight as well...weighing only 14 oz!! Can you believe it?! It does not require an external power adapter which is nice too.
Along with this really great scanner comes bundled software, including DocShell and Scan2Contacts. DocShell is software that takes scan documents and exports it into a certain program, such as PDF or Microsoft Paint. Another great feature is that you're able to save the images a number of ways: BMP, JPG, TIF, PSD, PCX, PNG or TGA. The Scan2Contacts software is a business card scanner for Microsoft Outlook. I was really amazed at all that this scanner can do and how easy it is to use and take with you. If you're looking for a way to make things easier in your business, look into getting a ScanShell 2000N today!! This is a paid post.

Bill Gates

As I'm sure many know, Bill Gates has been known as the "Richest Man in the world" for quite some time. In fact, for as long as I can remember this has been the case. Now they're saying that there is a new "richest man" from Mexico. This person is Mexican telecom tycoon Carlos Slim Helu. This skyrocket in wealth has come from how well his company, America Movil has been doing. I found this to be quite interesting and look forward to seeing who the next "richest person" will be.

Belisi

Do you like listening to music online? Well I do, as I'm on the computer much of the day. I was really excited to find Belisi Radio - the sound of Belisi. I like it because you can continue to do whatever you are doing online while listening to the music you love at the same time!! I also really was impressed by it because of the variety of music that is offered. Whether you're looking to hear the current hottest artists, Christian music, or legends of music, this is the place for you. I for one love Christian music and was ecstatic to find Christ Tomlin on here. I am actually listening to his "Famous One" song while I write this post!! Check this site out and see what music you might like to listen to and enjoy your time on the web more with Belisi. This is a paid post.

Day off tomorrow!!

Well, I'm pretty happy today because I will be getting a break from work after today is over. Tomorrow is July 4th, which means I get the whole day off. I'm very excited about that, as I have not had one day off (besides weekends) since the time I started back in April!! I don't even know what I'm going to do...probably relax and enjoy the nice weather.
