New TV

I have always been into electronics of all kinds. I guess you could call me a tech guy. I have recently been looking into getting a new television and so far am not sure what to get. I continue to upgrade because having the newest and most modern thing on the market is what I enjoy. I plan to put my currently flat screen in my spare bedroom/office...but won't be able to do that until I can figure out which kind of TV to get next. Any suggestions? I am looking for something big and with a flat screen. It's going to be my Christmas present to myself!
